De Korte Lawyers is a general practice firm situated on Mount Gravatt-Capalaba Road in Upper Mount Gravatt.

The firm was established in early 2006 by Hendrik de Korte. Although the firm is relatively young, Hendrik brings a wealth of experience, having established a successful practice in South Africa.

Over the past years, the firm has gained respect and recognition as it continues to grow rapidly. The client base has increased predominately through client referrals, which is an indication of the quality of service provided.

De Korte Lawyers is able to offer a wide-range of migration services. We work to accommodate the needs of clients, both in Australia and abroad.

POSITION VACANT

De Korte Lawyers have a position vacant for an Accounts/Conveyancing Clerk for immediate start with flexible working hours negotiable.

This position is primarily responsible for conveyancing duties, offering administrative support to solicitors, accounts payable/receivable, responding to customer enquiries.

The successful applicant will possess:
• Previous experience in the legal industry (specifically in the area of conveyancing) would be highly regarded,
• Minimum 1 year experience in accounts payable/receivable,
• Be competent in the use of LEAP Documents/Accounts, Filepro or similar client management systems.

Our People

Hendrik de Korte (Principal) studied Commerce and Law at the University of Pretoria and served articles of law in 1995 and 1996. He practiced law in Pretoria from 1997 to 2001, where he established a successful law firm. He sat a conversion examination in 2001 in the United Kingdom and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2002. He migrated to Australia with his young family in 2002, when he was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland. Practising in various firms in Queensland, Hendrik possesses extensive knowledge and experience in the Australian legal system. Furthermore, his personal experience of migrating to Australia enables him to provide great insight to migration clients in his role as a registered Migration Agent. Hendrik is fluent in Afrikaans.
 




 Thinus Roos (Paralegal) studied Law and Accountancy at the University of Pretoria and was admitted as Solicitor in South Africa in 1991, where he specialised in property and employment law. He practised law in South Africa until he and his family migrated to Australia in 2001. He was involved in various business ventures in South Africa and Australia. Thinus is currently converting his legal qualifications to be admitted as a Solicitor in Queensland. Thinus is fluent in Afrikaans.








Emily Smith (Solicit
or) graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Laws in 2009 and completed her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in December 2010. Emily started at de Korte Lawyers in a work experience position in August 2010 and joined the firm in January 2011. Emily was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland in March 2011.

 

 

 

 



Emma Ramage (Legal Assistant) started at de Korte Lawyers in a work experience position in February 2009 and thereafter was appointed to the position of Legal Assistant. Emma is currently studying Business and Law at Queensland University of Technology where she is expecting to graduate in mid 2012.
